Angtong National Marine Park
When all that is done, its time to enjoy some of the activities that only a tropical beach like this one can offer. The Angtong National Marine
Island Tours has a lot to offer when it comes to activities. The beaches across this expanse even provide the opportunity to walk along
secluded beaches and at the same time enjoy beach sports from beach volleyball to shallow water snorkeling. Sunbathing is also a
cherished pastime here.
Parasailing is a favorite pastime, as is kayaking and snorkeling on the Angtong snorkeling tour. The clear turquoise water holds such beautiful
marine life, not found anywhere else in the world. The diversity of the oceans here is unparalleled and the water is crystal clear. Along many
islands, the steep decent of certain depths provide a naturally conducive environment for the Angtong snorkeling tour to view the stretch of
the ocean down to 40 feet to the sea bed. There are also many places amongst these limestone islands that one could enjoy scuba diving.
These waters were once heavily pirated with many battles fought off the coast. It is a divers paradise when it comes to diving for sunken
ships. There are quite a few and the dive shops here will point any diver in the right direction.
The Koh Mae island belongs to the Ang Thong National Marine Park. This beautiful park consists of about 40 small picturesque islands.
Established in 1980, the park is a perfect combination of lush vegetation, quiet blue lagoons, majestic cliffs, mysterious caves and white
sandy beaches. Ang Thong National Marine Park can be easily reached by boat from Koh Samui. Most tourists come here for a day to
snorkel, ride a canoe, walk around the jungle or just relax on the beach.
Koh Mae is translated as Mother Island, and this name was given for a reason, as this is the main and most beautiful island of the whole
park. Like a shiny diamond in a necklace, the Mother Island crowns the archipelago and offers breathtaking views of the neighboring islands.
Abundant flora and fauna of Koh Mae, both in the sea and in the jungle, will never leave you indifferent.
Have you ever seen a saltwater lake on an island in the middle of the ocean? For sure it is a true natural wonder, and you will find this
miracle on Koh Mae! The fascinating Thale Noi lake is the main attraction of the Mother Island. Just a quick glance at its calm turquoise
waters will bring you peace and joy, and for sure you will forget about your problems and concerns. Sheer limestone cliffs around the lake
make it even more charming and picturesque. You can easily climb these cliffs by using the “staircase” that was carefully laid by Mother
Nature and observe stunning views that open from the top of the Koh Mae island.
Come here for a day or stay overnight to watch the beautiful sunset on the beach. Escape from the daily routine into the wild and treat
yourself with a pleasant vacation on the fabulous island of Koh Mae!
